The purpose of this report on the Iowa Community College System was to review Iowa community college programs and related services. The report is comprised of the following basic sections: (1) the introduction, which includes a history of Iowa Community Colleges; (2) Credit Student Enrollment, offering a variety of reports; (3) Credit Student Demographics; (4) Credit Student Awards; (5) Non-Credit Enrollment and Programs; (6) Community College Programs, including programs accredited by other agencies; (7) Success of Community College Credit Students, including data from the Iowa Board of Regents that refers to transfer students and graduation rates data; (8) Adult Basic Education; (9) Economic Development; (10) Human Resources; (11) Financial, including revenues and expenditures; (12) Tuition and Fees; and (13) Financial Aid. The data in the Credit Student Enrollment section includes the following highlights: (1) credit enrollment in the system in 2000-2001 was an unduplicated headcount of 98,602, compared with 95,556 the previous year; and (2) 69.27% of total enrollment in 2000-2001 was in the Arts and Science programs, nearly the same (69.17%) as in the previous year. Highlights of the Credit Student Demographics section include: (1) in 2000-2001 57.13% of students were female, similar to 57.23% in the previous year; and (2) the largest age group of credit students in 2000-2001 was 18-22 (53% of total enrollment).
