A Look at How Agencies Can Utilize Outcome and Performance Data To Enhance Service Delivery.
Resources for Welfare Decisions, v6 n1 Jan 2002
This issue focuses on a variety of performance measurement and outcome data resources as they relate to evaluating service delivery performance in areas that include employment (welfare-to-work and performance bonuses for work participation) and child welfare, as well as some general Temporary Assistance to Needy Families program areas. It also looks at the challenges of effective performance evaluation across different types of agencies--government, non-profit, and for-profit. A background section lists Welfare Information Network (WIN) sites for information regarding performance measurement, research, and evaluation and a Finance Project Web site devoted to information about better results for children, families, and communities. The next section describes nine "Publications and Electronic Resources" and lists their Web sites. A section on "What States/Agencies Are Doing" discusses activities and lists applicable Web sites for Alabama, Arizona, Kentucky, New York City, and Oklahoma. Web sites for 10 resource contacts are then listed. (YLB)
