Elevating Expectations: A New Take on Accountability, Achievement, and Evaluation.

This book presents an assessment model, developed from studies in two schools in Hawaii, that uses student-led conferences and the progress folio process to help students elevate their expectations as they progress through elementary school. The chapters are: (1) "Children First"; (2) "Bridging Learning Goals and Instruction"; (3) "Building Progress Folios"; (4) "Bridging Learning, Assessing, and Reporting through Student-Led Conferences"; and (5) "Bridging Assessment and Evaluation across the Grades." Three appendixes contain a description of Hawaii's language arts content standards, the introduction to a student goals booklet, and blackline masters for the assessment process.
