This resource guide provides students, educators, and other information users with a list of generally available free or low-cost energy-related educational materials. The 163 organizations listed are each related to the subject fields of coal, electricity, energy efficiency/energy conservation, the environment, geosciences/earth sciences, natural gas, nuclear energy, petroleum, recycling, renewable energy, waste management, and/or water. Organizations range from municipal utilities to federal agencies, from regional and national nonprofits to corporations. Free offerings include booklets on energy conservation and recycling, newsletters, educational films and videos, tours and classroom presentations, science and energy curricula, teachers' kits, catalogs, posters, and many other supplementary educational materials on energy. Items described available for a fee include books and videos, curriculum units, games and manipulatives, slide shows, interactive computer software, and teacher workshops. Entries are listed alphabetically by organization title. Each entry includes the address, telephone number, and a description of the organization and the energy-related materials available. Most of the entries also include internet and electronic mail addresses for more information. The index groups organizations by subject and is cross-referenced by number to the alphabetical entries.
