The Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) gathers data about employee compensation in its 48 public community colleges each year. This report reflects the census of October 1, 2000, and contains data on faculty salaries, administrative salaries, classified salaries, and other nonteaching professional staff salaries. Highlights include: (1) the weighted average total salary actually paid to faculty was $62,281, administrators was $61,635, other nonteaching professionals was $39,494, and classified staff was $26,108; (2) the average academic year salary schedule salaries paid to full-time faculty with a master's degree and five years experience was $42,526, and with a doctorate and maximum experience was $69,626; (3) average salary rates for part-time faculty was $440 per credit hour, for full-time faculty (overload rate) was $577 per credit hour, and for full-time faculty summer rate was $685 per credit hour; (4) contractual (base) salaries paid to full-time personnel was $52,541 for faculty, $64,155 for administrators, and $53,296 for nonteaching professionals; and (5) the average cost of fringe benefits for full-time employees was $7,095 for full-time faculty, $7,240 for administrators, $6,915 for nonteaching professionals, and $6,382 for classified staff.
