Virtual Libraries in the Southeast: A Guide to Online Resources Available to Educators in the SERVE States. Special Report.
Hartness, Elizabeth Williams; Bingham, Margaret H.
In the past 5 years, each state in the Southeastern Regional Vision for Education (SERVE) region (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, and South Carolina) developed virtual libraries that provide citizens access to licensed databases. This guide describes each state's offerings including the methods of access, resources, and available help and training. A primer in search conventions and strategies as well as a list of suggested Internet search tools and their unique features are also provided. Three appendices include an alphabetical list of licensed databases, a list of licensed databases by vendor, and a bookmark with virtual library names and URLs. (AEF)
