This statistical document from the University of Alaska Anchorage provides charts and graphs regarding students and student activities at the college in the fall of 2000. Included is information on student headcount and credit hours, majors by specific college within the university and at the branch campuses, credit hours by discipline, and student head counts and majors at their branch campuses. Overall, at the main campus enrollment was down by 2% in fall 2000 from the previous fall, while at all of the branch campuses enrollment had increased over the previous year. The main campus had a total student head count of 12,857. Of the full-time students on the main campus, females slightly outnumbered males, while of the part-time students, females outnumbered males by almost two to one. The main campus and all of the branch campuses were predominately white, with white students making up 76% of the population. The largest minority group was Alaskan natives at 6% followed by Pacific Islanders/Asians at 4%, African American at 4%, Hispanics at 4% and American Indians at 1%. On the main campus a large number of students considered themselves undeclared and were not associated with one of the schools or colleges. Of those students who were declared, the largest number had majors in the college of arts and science, followed by the college of health, education and social welfare. (LD)
