Parkland College Transfer Program Graduate Follow-Up Survey, 1999-2000.

This report contains student data obtained from the 1999-2000 Transfer Program Graduate Follow-Up Survey at Parkland College (Illinois). The alumni were surveyed during the summer following graduation. Results include: (1) about 89% of the students studied attended Parkland with an intent to transfer to a four-year university or college; (2) approximately 82% indicated that they would enroll in a field the following semester; (3) satisfaction rates for all seven major program areas were high: graduates were somewhat or very satisfied with course content (95%); equipment, facilities, materials (94%); preparation for further education (94%); group and individual projects (80%); and information on current employment (60%); (4) eighty-four percent of the respondents reported that they have utilized college transfer planning service and, among these users, 78.6% were somewhat or very satisfied with the service; (5) approximately 49% reported that they had sought college-tutoring service--among them, 82% were somewhat or very satisfied with the academic service; (6) more graduates reported that they transferred to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (17%) and to Illinois State University (15%) than to the other 18 in-state and 15 out-of-state reported institutions; and (7) about 68% agreed or strongly agreed that their experience at Parkland improved their abilities to write and speak, while 50% indicated improvement in reading.
