CITY FACTS is an annual publication of the City College of New York's (CCNY's) Institutional Research Office. It contains four main sections: Executive Summary and Commentary on CITY FACTS Tables, Student Data over the Past Decade, Employee and Financial Data, and Reference Sources. A brief commentary on each of the City Facts tables is included in this first section, where references are made to those tables showing the most detailed information. For example, Table 13 shows all students by residence and gender for fall of 2000 (Manhattan was home to 29% of students, Queens 21.3%, and Brooklyn 20.6%). In the second section, enrollment trends and other student data are provided for fall 1991 to fall 2000 semesters. "Total student data" is shown first, followed by separate information for undergraduate, graduate, and transfer students. In fall 2000, 53.9% of total CCNY enrollments were women and 46.1% men. In the third section of the report, data on instructional and non-instructional staff by gender and ethnicity are provided, along with data on budgets, revenues, and expenditures. Highlights include: (1) 104 female and 269 male members of faculty are tenured; and (2) 4,186 Pell Grants and 650 Perkins loans were offered. Section four offers context-specific references for each of the tables presented in CITY FACTS and also provides details on City University of New York's statistical treatment of enrollment and course data.
