Ivy Tech State College 1995-96 Transfer Analysis.

This document examines the status of 1995-96 Ivy Tech State College (Indiana) graduates and non-graduates who did not re-enroll in 1996-97. Report highlights for the Ivy Tech graduates include: (1) 23% of the graduates who transferred to a public institution enrolled in baccalaureate programs at junior and senior levels; (2) these students had averaged a GPA of 3.23, with 73.4 earned hours while enrolled at Ivy Tech; (3) the average GPA of students while at the transfer institutions was 2.60; (4) students were able to transfer an average of 27.7 credit hours from Ivy Tech; (5) about 35% of these students were enrolled in at least one basic skills course at Ivy Tech; (6) fifty-seven students received technical certificates, 78 received associate of applied science degrees, and 26 received an associate of science degree; and (7) overall, younger students were found to be more likely to transfer than older students. Results for non-graduates include: (1) 8% enrolled in another public Indiana institution, and 62% of those 8% were enrolled in a baccalaureate program; (9) while at Ivy Tech, these students averaged a GPA of 2.79, and average GPA earned at transfer institutions was 2.44; and (10) 10.2 credit hours were transferred on average.
