The World's Best Places: Classroom Explorations in Geography & Environmental Science.
This book offers an alternative to traditional upper elementary and middle school lesson plans, using 32 of the world's national parks as a springboard for activities. The activities in the book are divided into chapters that deal with particular topics of study: wildlife, plant life, geography, and geology. Includes step-by-step instructions that illustrate how the activities can be implemented to teach a range of other topics, including glaciers, endangered species, indigenous cultures, forest preservation and destruction, ecosystems, and biological diversity. Contains four appendices, which include descriptions of all 32 parks and a list of related organizations. (BT)
