Report on Staffing and Salaries, Fall 1996.
California Community Colleges, Sacramento. Office of the Chancellor.
This is the sixteenth in a series of annual reports providing demographic, employment, workload, and compensation information on California community college employees. The report period is the fall 1996 term, and covers all community college employees supported by state and district general funds, including categorical programs. Not included are employees supported by non-public funds (such as contract and community service education), and employees hired during the summer session. Information is presented for seven categories of employees: (1) full-time faculty; (2) part-time faculty; (3) professional--non-teaching; (4) academic administrators; (5) classified administrators; (6) classified other; and (7) casual. The report is divided into eight sections. Section 1 presents: (1) district and college level information on the number and full-time equivalency of employees broken out by primary occupational activity and employment category; (2) regular and overload weekly faculty contact hours (WFCH) taught; and (3) four year summary of the number and average annual salary paid to full time faculty. The seven remaining sections each cover an employee category and present district level information on age, gender-race/ethnicity, employment classification, employment status, annual contract duration, WFCH workload, and compensation. This report is designed to provide reference information and contains little analysis. Contains 51 tables. (PGS)
