This document describes various standards and measures of institutional effectiveness for South Texas Community College (STCC) for 1999-2000. It includes descriptions of: (1) total faculty by highest degree earned; (2) proportion of women, minorities and special populations (such as the economically disadvantaged and single parents) in all workforce education enrollment; (3) representation by gender, ethnicity, and special populations of students accepted in competitive programs; (4) completion rates for full-time and part-time students who did and did not receive remediation; (5) retention rates from fall to spring of students who did and did not receive remediation; (6) course completion measures; (7) percentage of non-completers/non-returners who are employed or pursuing additional education; (8) workforce education program enrollment by declared majors and full-time student equivalent; (9) number of workforce education program graduates between 1996 and 1998; and (10) number of workforce graduates placed between 1995 and 1997. Highlights include: (1) faculty holding a bachelor's degree as their highest degree totaled 297, a master's degree 54, and a doctoral degree 47; (2) total college enrollment for 1997-98 was 13,666, 60% of which was female; and (3) 47% of full-time first-time-in-college students not receiving remediation received a degree or certificate or transferred within three years (1995-98).
