This document is a compilation of annual data profile tables, Perkins measures, and institutional effectiveness measures and standards for South Texas Community College, 1998. Data highlights include: (1) total annual enrollment in 1996-97 was 11,508 (872 white; 29 black; 10,526 Hispanic; 69 Asian; 9 Native American; 3 international; and 81 other); (2) males made up 4,634 of total enrollment, females 6,874; and (3) the most popular majors were community health services (561), practical nursing (440), accounting (338), and administrative and secretarial services (317). Perkins measures reported on include acceptance and awards, completion of full- and part-time students; access to technical programs, and retention and remediation. Institutional effectiveness measures outlined are: (1) completion rates for full- and part-time students receiving remediation and not receiving remediation; (2) retention rates from fall to spring for full- and part-time first-time-in-college students; (3) course completion; (4) outcomes of 15 graduates over a 3-year period; (5) placement of workforce education graduates within one year of graduation; (6) technical non-completers/non-returners employed or pursuing additional education; and (7) workforce development.
