This videotape (running time 18.52 minutes) was produced to help students as they shop for a college or career school. It contains shopping tips for both types of institution and stresses the importance of determining what a student wants to do and learn and then looking carefully at the options for education to achieve these goals. Students are reminded that they don't have to pay for help in looking at postsecondary education options, and that it is important to start planning early. Some tips are given to avoid being pressured by recruiters. Especially for career schools, it is important to check the reputation of the school, the dropout and graduation rates, and the employment placement rate.
