Create Your Own Amazing Arthur Event.
Since 1996, the "Arthur" program on the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) has featured stories about the challenges of childhood for children ages 3 through 8, illustrating problem-solving and communication skills as well as the importance of self-respect and respect for others. This booklet provides creative ideas for ways to incorporate "Arthur" books and television episodes into children's activities or events held at television stations, libraries, community organizations, museums, or schools. The booklet includes episode descriptions from the program's first and second seasons on PBS, a list of "Arthur" books, and suggestions for having an "Arthur Day," holding an Arthur contest, and creating an Arthur club. The guide also presents suggestions regarding location, volunteers, partnerships, and promotion. Also included is an "Arthur" coloring sheet and mask, information on Arthur resources, the Arthur style and trademark, use of the Arthur costume or inflatable for events, and Arthur-related merchandise.
