HESES2000: Higher Education Students Early Statistics Survey 2000-01. Request.

This document asks institutions to complete an annual survey on full-time equivalent student load on recognized higher education (HE) courses. The HESES2000 survey should be completed by all HE institutions receiving funds from the Higher Education Funding Council for England recurrent funds for teaching. The data will provide an early indication of the number of students studying in academic year 2000-01, enable a comparison of student load with allocations made for academic year 2000-01, and inform allocation of teaching funds for academic year 2001-02. The 20 appendixes, which comprise the bulk of the document, provide information to help institutions complete the survey, including: summary of changes since a previous survey; table descriptions; descriptions of columns in tables; the survey student population; countable years of program of study; student load; long years of program of study; residential and funding status; level of study; mode of study; price groups; recognized HE courses; approximation to the year of program study; links between survey data and Health Education Statistics Agency data; validation checks; workbook notes; sample tables; survey checklist; glossary; and a survey index.
