This publication highlights the role of the tutor (a person providing on-the-job training to new hires and persons moving into new jobs while still functioning in the same or a similar job, rather than being a full-time trainer) in industry through a comparative study of these four European countries: Austria, France, Germany, and Spain. Following a review of the issue of tutors, which sets the criteria for identifying tutoring and the characteristics of the tutor's role by Anne de Blignieres-Legeraud, these four analyses of issues are included: "Issues Arising in the Training of Tutors in Enterprises: Germany, Austria, Spain, and France" (Francoise Gerard); "The European Dimension to Training Tutors in Enterprises" (Reinhard Selka); "The Training of Training Tutors in Enterprises" (Heinz-Dieter Voskamp); and "Training in the Dual System: Qualification for the Media Industry" (Mathias Laermanns).
