Profile of B.C. College Transfer Students Admitted to the University of Victoria, 1992-93 to 1996-97.
This report examines the population of college transfer students who entered the University of Victoria (UVic) from 1992/93 to 1996/97. Section A provides a general profile of the 6,486 British Columbia (BC) college transfer students who first registered and commenced studies at UVic in any session between summer 1992 and winter 1996/97. Section B examines the UVic performance of B.C. college entrants. Like Section A, this section provides a profile of all 6,486 B.C. college transfer students who first registered and commenced studies at UVic in any session between summer 1992 and winter 1996/97. Some of Section B's tables focus on those who entered between summer 1992 and winter 1993/94 and hence have had sufficient time to earn a credential. Section C focuses on the 1,754 B.C. college transfer students admitted during the five year period who have graduated. Section D profiles the 2,260 students who were not admitted to UVic on the basis of work at a B.C. college, but who attended a B.C. college sometime in the past. This group includes those admitted on the basis of B.C. high school performance, mature students, students from another university, etc. The paper includes an appendix of definitions and technical notes.
