This book teaches adolescents problem solving techniques to help them as they strive for independence and struggle with responsibility. Each issue is introduced by a story involving a teen dealing with the problem or issue to be discussed. The book discusses eight ways that adolescents can get along better with their parents, thus gaining their parents' trust, and examines how much teens are influenced by their friends and by what they see on TV and in movies, hear on the radio, and read in magazines. Also examined are ways to look at and solve problems that can help adolescents when they have difficult choices to make. This book teaches teens about taking care of themselves on the inside and the outside. It discusses eating disorders, what dating is all about, and how to know when you are really in love.
