Organizing for Survival: A Professor's Guide to Tenure and Increased Productivity. ISRI Occasional Paper No. 27. Latino Studies Series.
Rochin, Refugio I.
Professors can improve their chances of earning tenure by paying attention to organizing certain areas of their professional lives. Evidence of teaching effectiveness, professional and community service, research and other creative activities needs to be gathered and presented in a clear manner at faculty review proceedings. Good organizational skills, thoughtful planning, mentoring, and strategic production of research can all help to enhance an individual's portfolio and aid survival in academe. (JM)
