Northern Virginia Community Coll., Annandale.
This report presents information pertaining to evaluations of Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC), collected through the 1996-97 graduate survey. The graduate survey is mailed annually to graduates and contains questions regarding educational goals, employment, and the impact of NVCC on its students. In 1997, there were 2,753 graduates, 936 of whom responded to the survey (34% response rate). The report is divided into six sections. Section 1 presents evaluations by all of the respondents and Sections 2 through 6 present the same information separately for graduates of each of the five campuses. Graduates evaluated 40 areas in four major categories: Education, Instruction, Faculty, and Services and Facilities. In ten of eleven Education areas, NVCC was rated excellent or good by more than 50% of respondents. Over 85% rated instruction as excellent or good in all three Instruction areas. Ratings for Faculty were in the good to excellent range for three of four areas. The exception was "Faculty Advisement," which was rated in the average to good range. For Facilities and Services, graduates rated NVCC in the average to good range for 20 of 22 areas. Contains 24 tables. A copy of the survey instrument is appended. (RDG)
