This book is designed to clarify the finer points of implementing family literacy programs, developing curriculum, and meeting the needs of adults, children, and families, while providing resources for effective family literacy programs. It is an answer book to many of the questions the National Center for Family Literacy is asked most often. Each chapter ends with sample forms which can be used in family literacy programs, as well as lesson plans for each of the four components of comprehensive family literacy programs (adult education, early childhood education, parent groups, and parent and child together time). Chapters in the book are: (1) "Family Literacy: An Overview"; (2) "Collaboration"; (3) "Curriculum Development"; (4) "Adult Education"; (5) "Early Childhood Education"; (6) "Infant/Toddler"; (7) "Parent and Child Together Time"; (8) "Parent Groups"; (9) "Home Visits"; and (10) "Component Integration."
