CLAST: College-Level Academic Skills Test. Statewide and Institutional Report of Results, 1998-1999.
Florida State Dept. of Education, Tallahassee.
The College-Level Academic Skill Test (CLAST) is part of Florida's system of educational accountability. It is an achievement test that measures students' attainment of the college-level communication and mathematics skills that were identified by faculties of community colleges and state universities. Students in community colleges and state universities take the CLAST. The CLAST consists of four subtests: an essay, English language skills, reading, and mathematics. This document contains the combined results of the three CLAST administrations for the 1998-99 school year and separate results for October 1998, February 1999, and June 1999. Results are based on the performance of first-time examinees in public institutions and independent institutions. These results include means and passing rates for each subtest for each institution, gender, and racial/ethnic category. Data is presented in table form. (Contains four sets of detailed tables.)
