The NCAA provides institutions participating in the program with instructional materials and resources that support student-athletes' development in academics, athletics, personal life, career, and community service. Participating institutions can attend orientations and conferences designed to enhance the academic, personal, as well as athletic development of student-athletes. As of July 1999, there were 293 participating institutions in the CHAMPS/Life Skills program, 109 of which were Division I-A colleges. Sections of the report cover: history of the program, a description of the program, resources available, development opportunities, starting a program, instructional resources, a list of participating institutions by division status, and the application process.
