This directory describes nearly 1,400 financial aid sources available to Hispanic American college students. An introduction explains the purpose, compilation, arrangement, and use of the directory. The directory's main body is divided into three sections: individual descriptions of the specific financial aid opportunities, an annotated bibliography of directories listing general financial aid programs, and a set of indexes. The 1,360 funding opportunities listed in the first section are sponsored by nearly 800 government agencies, professional organizations, corporations, sororities and fraternities, foundations, religious groups, educational associations, and military/veterans organizations; aid available through individual colleges or universities is not included. Entries are grouped in six categories: scholarships, fellowships, loans, grants, awards, and internships. Each entry provides information on program title, organization address and telephone number, e-mail and Web site addresses, purpose, eligibility, remuneration, duration, special features, limitations, number of awards, and application deadlines. The second section provides an annotated list of nearly 60 key directories of financial aid open to all. Each entry contains basic bibliographic information and an annotation specifying scope, arrangement, publication history, and special features. Finally, the volume includes six indexes: program title, sponsoring organization, residency, tenability, subject, and calendar. (DB)
