This fall 1998 report describes student characteristics, enrollment, test scores, and outcomes at Jefferson College, Missouri. Statistics are grouped into seven sections. In the Admissions area, nearly sixty-nine percent of students graduated from an in-county high school or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) program. Regarding Total Student Body, for the third year in a row, enrollment increased slightly to 3,976 (13 students over last year), student credit hours increased by 452 to 38,640 total, part-time student enrollment decreased slightly, the number of full-time students increased slightly, and the number of full-time equivalent students has stabilized. The Degree-Seeking Students section states that 661 more of these students enrolled than in 1997. Area Vocational School experienced enrollment growth in both high school- and college-level programs. The Standardized Testing section reports that average ACT scores are about one point lower than national averages, and freshmen scored at or above other two-year college freshmen on the Asset course placement test and the CAAP test. With regard to Student Outcomes, fifteen percent of students earn a certificate or associate's degree, or complete a program each year. In fall 1998, 1,186 students who began their education at Jefferson were enrolled in other Missouri public institutions. In 1997, ninety-seven percent of vocational-technical graduates were employed 180 days after graduation. Enrollment statistics for Jefferson College at Arnold are offered in this final section, stating that the center experienced a slight decrease in enrollment and credit hours.
