Fall Enrollment & Staffing Report, 1998.

Seven areas were examined: (1) enrollment measurements are broken-down by FTEs, demographics, student purpose, funding sources, full and part-time status, and planned length of attendance, worthy to note is the 2% increase over fall 1997 enrollment; (2) under Student Demographics area, gender, disability, race and ethnicity, age, entering educational status, and family and employment status are examined, the racial composition of the student population is more diverse than that of the state as a whole; (3) selected program student characteristics looks at six types of students who were enrolled in special courses/programs, including worker retraining and distance learning; (4) enrollment at state supported programs -- academic, vocational, basic skills and development; types of state supported courses offered, and day and evening course enrollments are given--of the fall 1998 state-supported students, 26% were starting college for the first time; (5) similar information is provided for contract supported programs; (6) the staff section of the report looks at the teaching faculty, employment status, demographics, and FTEs; Full-time faculty provide 55% of all instruction in fall 1998, similar to 1997; and, lastly (7) the report examines each college by the same six areas used in the statewide examination.
