Compendium of Research Supporting Law-Related Education. Part II: Alternative Conceptions/Applications of Law Related-Education.
Social Science Education Consortium, Inc., Boulder, CO.
This compendium compiles 15 reports in a review of the research literature supporting law-related education (LRE) in the schools. Historical research and current findings are presented. This compendium is organized into three sections. Section 1 focuses on the research that has provided the foundation for the vision of LRE practiced by the National Training and Dissemination Program/Youth for Justice, including both the impact study conducted in the early 1980s and an ethnographic study of institutionalization of LRE conducted later in the decade. Section 2 looks at other research on school-based law-related/civic education. The final section presents 3 articles on research in other areas of education -- social studies, for example -- that support the project vision of LRE. (BT)
