Rare Plants and Animals of the Texas Hill Country: Educator's Guide.

Texas Hill Country is a land of fresh water springs, stony hills, and steep canyons and home to many rare plants and animals. Six activities for grades 3-5 and six activities for grades 6-12 are contained in this guide. Elementary activity highlights include using "The Lorax" by Dr. Seuss to stimulate critical thinking about environmental problems and endangered species. Highlights for middle and high school student activities include student-led research of suggested topics concerning conservation of rare resources in Hill Country. Each activity contains some or all of the following: background information, questions, objectives, materials, procedures, and evaluations where appropriate for the teacher.
