This companion document to an instructor's guide for a 30-hour course on effective communication begins with a list of course objectives, expected outcomes, and prerequisites. Lessons are organized into the following categories: introductory lessons; reading lessons; writing lessons; listening and speaking lessons; and newsletter production lessons. Materials for each lesson include the following: a section titled "before you begin" that helps the student get ready by answering questions or writing responses; exercises; answers for self-check; and a section titled "key points to remember" that is provided for the student to record what he or she thinks is most important to remember.
