Byrnes, Ronald S.; Downing, Peter W.; Vogler, Carol
This book was designed with activities for students in grades 7-12. The activities increase student awareness about Africa and dispel misconceptions about Africa. Values and cultures in Africa, the role of Africa and Africans in the global system, human and geographic diversity, and current issues confronting Africa are topics addressed. Each section contains numerous activities. Section titles include: (1) "Introduction"; (2) "Mapping Africa"; (3) "Perception"; (4) "Tradition vs. Modernization"; and (5) "Role in Global Community."
