This journal focuses on organizational change within the community college and its reflection of social movement and institutional identity. The first article, "Organizational Change and the Community College," by John Stewart Levin, demonstrates how change determines the character of the institution. "Making Sense of Organizational Change," by John Stewart Levin, provides explanations of generated change. "Managing Change: A Case Study in Evolving Strategic Management," by Linda Thor, Carol Scarafiotti, and Laura Helminski, presents an institution that alters practices to meet learner needs. "The Urban Community College in the Midst of Change," by J. Marie Pepicello and Marsha Hopkins, analyzes approaches to facilitating adaptive, interactive administrative behavior. "A Feminist Critique of Organizational Change in the Community College," by Barbara Townsend and Susan Twombly, addresses current literature through a feminist perspective. "The Postmodern Challenge: Changing Our Community Colleges," by William Bergquist, compares community colleges with postmodern organizations and makes suggestions for improvement. The final article, "Sources and Information on Organizational Change in the Community College," by Elizabeth Foote, provides an overview of ERIC literature, which includes models of organizational transformation, case studies, and strategies for change.
