Fiscal Year 1998 Salary Report for the Illinois Public Community Colleges.

This report contains fiscal year (FY) 1998 data on employee compensation in the 49 public community colleges in the Illinois Community College System. First, data tables are provided on contractual base salaries for full-time faculty, salary rates for part-time faculty, full-time faculty overload, and summer term faculty. Next, salary schedules for full-time faculty with Master's degrees and institutional policies related to faculty salaries and contracts are presented. Information is then provided on: (1) contractual base salaries for non-teaching professional and administrative staff for FY 1998; (2) salaries paid to selected administrators; (3) FY 1998 monthly classified staff salaries; and (4) FY 1997 fringe benefits for all full-time employees. Finally, the report provides FY 1998 mean percentage salary increases for all employees, the average total salary actually paid at the colleges in FY 1997, and average contractual salaries for FY 1994 through FY 1998. Highlighted data include the following: (1) FY 1998 average total salaries actually paid (including all overloads and compensation) amounted to $56,659 for faculty, $56,743 for administrative, and $35,376 for professional, non-teaching employees; (2) FY 1997 average fringe benefit costs for full-time employees were $5,304 for faculty, $5,381 for administrative, $5,350 for non-teaching staff, and $4,834 for classified staff; and (3) FY 1998 average salary rates per credit hour were $393 for part-time faculty, $552 for full-time faculty (overload rate), and $641 for full-time faculty (summer rate).
