Graduate Follow-Up Report, 1996-97.
Wisconsin Technical Coll. System Board, Madison.
Wisconsin Technical College System distributed questionnaires to graduates from its 16 community colleges to compile a graduate follow-up survey. The primary objectives of the survey were to identify the current activities of program graduates, determine the extent to which current activities are related to the graduates' educational programs, provide information to be used as tools in career awareness and planning efforts for those making or assisting in career decisions, and provide data to facilitate program planning, evaluation, and development. The survey response rate was 83%. Results indicated that the majority of students were white females aged 20-24 years. About half of the students stated that they attended college to prepare for employment, and 97% of them were satisfied with the training they received. Almost all of the graduates were employed, with the majority of employment directly related to college training. Eighty-eight percent of those employed work in Wisconsin, mostly in the health field. The highest median annual salary, $24,996, was in the technical field. Tables of individual program response data and Web site information are provided. Appendix includes survey instrument and an index to data tables. (YKH)
