The Schools and Staffing Survey (SASS) of the National Center for Education Statistics is an integrated system of surveys of public and private schools, school districts, school administrators, and teachers. This collection contains six papers related to the 1991 SASS and its components or followups in later years. The following papers are included: (1) "The Results of the 1993 Teacher List Validation Study (TLVS)" (Daniel Royce); (2) "Designing the Teacher Followup Survey (TFS): Issue and Content" (David W. Grissmer and Sheila Nataraj Kirby); (3) "Understanding the Supply of Elementary and Secondary Teachers: The Role of the School and Staffing Survey and the Teacher Followup Survey" (Neil D.
