Compendium of Research Supporting Law-Related Education. Part I: Law-Related Education as Practiced by the National Training and Dissemination Program/ Youth for Justice.
Social Science Education Consortium, Inc., Boulder, CO.
This compendium contains 15 reports in a review of the research literature supporting law-related education (LRE) in the schools. Historical research and current findings are presented. The first part of this compendium is organized into three sections. Section 1 focuses on the research that has provided the foundation for the vision of LRE practiced by the National Training and Dissemination Program/Youth for Justice, including both the impact study conducted in the early 1980s and an ethnographic study of institutionalization of LRE conducted later in the decade. Section 2 looks at other research on school-based law-related/civic education. The final section presents 12 articles on research in other areas of education--social studies generally, for example--that support the project vision of LRE. (WG)
