Dear Babysitter Handbook: A Handy Guide for Your Child's Sitter.
Intended to help parents ensure a safe and positive experience for their child's babysitters, this booklet provides helpful information for babysitters of children ages birth through 7 years. The booklet is divided into three major sections. Section 1 contains a letter to the babysitter regarding his or her responsibilities, suggested strategies for the sitter when typical problems occur such as siblings fighting or how to bathe a child, descriptions of what to expect from children of different ages, and suggestions for activities that children of different ages would enjoy. Part 2 of the booklet concerns medical emergencies and first aid procedures. The potential emergencies are listed in alphabetical order, and this section is marked for easy access. This final section of the booklet contains forms for parents to complete regarding the location of first-aid supplies and household items, special medical information, medical treatment release, and house rules. Also included in the booklet is a section on easing separation anxiety and a babysitter phone directory. (KB)
