Patterns for Success: Understanding the Employee Handbook. (P6). Workforce 2000 Partnership.
Enterprise State Junior Coll., AL.
Developed for workers in the apparel, carpet, and textile industries, this curriculum package presents a curriculum guide, the lesson plan, handouts, transparencies, tests, and evaluation forms for use by instructors in customizing a one-hour course for new employees on understanding the employee handbook. The introduction describes how the curriculum is developed, the contents of this curriculum package, and how to involve learners in the educational process. The curriculum guide provides a quick view of all the major components of the curriculum--the specific instructional objective, time allotted, associated learning activities, resources/materials needed, and evaluation methods. The lesson plan contains the detailed explanation of the activities referenced on the curriculum guide. Handouts and transparencies used in teaching the course follow the lesson plan. The curriculum package concludes with evaluation forms used in development of a learner's Individual Education Plan (IEP), which provide for the collection of demographic data, evaluation of learner's skills and needs, and an outline of the activities in the curriculum package.(RS)
