Write On! Business Writing for Textile Workers. Workforce 2000 Partnership.
Enterprise State Junior Coll., AL.
This curriculum package presents a curriculum guide, the lesson plan, handouts, transparencies, tests, and evaluation forms for use by instructors in customizing a course on business writing for workers in the textile industry. The introduction describes how the curriculum is developed, the contents of this curriculum package, and how to involve learners in the educational process. The curriculum guide provide a quick view of all the major components of the curriculum--using appropriate mechanics of standard English; writing information in a clear, logical form; taking telephone messages accurately; recording information on work forms, charts, and graphs; writing short notes and/or simple memos; organizing information into a brief written report; writing letters; and writing resumes. The lesson plan contains the detailed explanation of the activities referenced on the curriculum guide. Handouts and transparencies used in teaching the course follow the lesson plan. The curriculum package concludes with evaluation forms used in development of a learner's Individual Education Plan (IEP), which provide for the collection of demographic data, evaluation of learner's skills and needs, and an outline of the activities in the curriculum package.
