Exploring Career Paths. Facilitator's Guide.

This five-section facilitator's guide is designed to help teachers guide students through exploration of career paths. The first section is an introduction to the concept of career paths and an explanation of the steps students follow in exploring them. The second section provides information to help instructors cover the introductory materials and each of the five steps of the student booklet. Each step consists of the following: purpose; directions for completing the appropriate activities in the student booklet; frequently asked questions about each career paths step; additional activities to supplement those provided in the student booklet; and crosswalks to the Missouri Comprehensive Model Guidance Program competencies and to the National Career Development Guidelines Competencies and indicators from the National Occupational Information Coordinating Committee. The third section includes handouts for completing the activities in the guide, the fourth section provides letters for students to take home to adult family members to explain the career exploration process. The final section provides ideas for implementing career paths in a school or district. (KC)
