The packet consists of three curriculum units based upon aspects of ancient Nubian life or culture. These units are: "Discovering the Past"; "Kings and Queens"; and "The Shape of Nubian Art." The units were developed to prepare students for and build on corresponding gallery visits to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, but the materials may be adapted for independent use. Each unit is subdivided into three lesson units focus on selected objects in the museum collection and outline projects may be done before, during, and after the museum visit. A series of questions encourage student description, interpretation, and creative response to the works of art.
