The Program Demand Cost Model for Alaskan Schools (Cost Model) is a tool for use by school districts and their consultants in estimating school construction costs in the planning phase of a project. This document sets out the sixth edition of the demand-cost model, a rewrite of the whole system. The model can be used to establish a complete budget for each facility or to determine the current replacement value for insurance purposes. The document explains, using detailed worksheets, how to use the demand-cost model for new school construction, school expansion, and renovation work. Three tables are included.
