This manual focuses on what prompts Peace Corps volunteers to get involved, activities that volunteers have tried while on assignment, and a series of guidelines volunteers can apply to secondary activity, which is organized during school recesses or at times when the Volunteer is otherwise unoccupied. The book is divided into three sections. Part 1, "Seven Success Stories," includes: (1) "Fishing in Sierre Leone"; (2) "Rooftop Gardening in the Dominican Republic"; (3) "Egg Production in Papua New Guinea"; (4) "Enterprise Zones in Malawi"; (5) "Repairing Braille writers in Nepal"; (6) "Organizing a Women's Conference in Hungary"; and (7) "Learning from Legends in Yap."
