This packet consists of explanatory materials on the Missouri Marketing Education Competency Profile and related information. Section 1 describes the mission of marketing education, marketing occupations, curriculum framework, and curriculum alignment for the 1996 profile. Section 2 addresses 1996 revisions to the Missouri Marketing Education Core Curriculum, including the revalidation process and a list of revisions to the core curriculum. Section 3 contains the list of the revised Missouri Marketing Education instructional units, learner outcomes, and competencies. On this list, the lettering and numbering system of the instructional units, learner outcomes, and competencies is the system used on the "Cross-Reference Table to Marketing Education Resources," the "Cross-Reference Table to Show-Me State Knowledge Standards," and the "Cross-Reference Table to Show State Performance Standards." Section 4 provides a table that lists the six textbooks with which the revised competencies were cross-referenced. The following table cross-references the competencies with the textbooks according to the chapter of the text that contains information on that competency. Section 5 lists the Missouri Show-Me State Standards Knowledge Standards and Performance Standards. Two tables contain the learner outcomes cross-referenced to the knowledge standards and performance standards, respectively. A copy of the Marketing Education Competency Profile is attached. (YLB)
