Numerous issues in on-campus clinical training are addressed in this book. Concerns such as developing, evaluating, and revising on-campus laboratories are covered. The first chapter includes a review of the available, published literature on running clinics. The text is then divided into six parts. Part One outlines the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) standards for clinical training, and includes a historical context for the evolution of clinical standards. In Part 2, three experienced clinic directors provide an in-depth analysis of the responsibilities of their positions. Legal and ethical issues in on-campus clinics are reviewed in Part 3 and on-campus entry-level training is considered in Part 4. Part 5 provides a close look at the on-campus training of doctoral-level supervisors and one school's program is reviewed at length. In Part 6, the dual role of the on-campus training clinic as a mental health agency is discussed. The concluding chapter offers reflections on the book and its import for counselor education. It is hoped that the information here will provide a state-of-the-art document for counseling laboratories.
