An introductory section provides basic information on Texas higher education institutions, while nine major sections cover: (1) student enrollment, including 1990-94 headcount data; headcount by classification, ethnic origin, and gender; retention; transfer students; and residency status; (2) semester hours at public universities, community colleges, and technical colleges by level and program; (3) degrees awarded by level, ethnicity, gender, and program at public universities, community colleges, technical colleges, and health-related institutions; (4) faculty headcount, student-faculty ratios, tenure status, and salaries by ethnicity and gender; (5) governing board members and non-faculty staff by ethnicity and gender; (6) physical facilities, including investment in physical plant and net assignable facilities space; (7) higher education appropriations, including all funds and general revenue per full-time student equivalent; (8) student financial aid programs, including data on recipients by ethnicity and gender, the Hinson-Hazlewood College Student Loan Program, loan forgiveness, grants, and scholarship and employment programs; and (9) statistical profiles of the state's 35 public universities.
