This packet contains an instructor's manual and a student workbook for a job-seeking skills course for persons with disabilities. The instructor's manual contains a suggested lesson plan for a 30-hour course. The lesson plan is structured around goals and measurable outcomes for each section of the seven-unit course. The manual also suggests teaching methods using techniques proven successful in programs at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. In addition, the instructor's manual contains appendixes providing master copies for class handouts, visual aids, and a participant's evaluation report that can be reproduced for use in documenting participant achievements. A list of 39 references is included to provide suggestions for further readings related to the area of job seeking and keeping skills. An order form for "The Americans with Disabilities Act Technical Assistance Manual" is provided. The student workbook contains seven units that cover the following topics: getting to know one another; knowing myself and choosing job goals; job application forms and resumes; getting ready to find a job; dealing with disability-related issues; getting a job and keeping it; and review.
