Starting Out, Starting Over. Finding the Work That's Waiting for You.
This book, aimed at recent college graduates and job-changers, provides a process for making career decisions. Based on the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, it is intended to help readers understand who they are and what motivates them. The book provides information, guidance, exercises, and tools for identifying and finding a job that fits. It includes insights about how to get the most out of personality inventories, online bulletin boards, internships, and networking. The 10 chapters cover the following topics: (1) making a career choice: an overview of the process; (2) career matchmaking using the Strong Inventory; (3) personality type and career; (4) how to complete a career profile; (5) library research; (6) research in cyberspace; (7) networking your way to your next career; (8) making sense of your research; (9) reality testing your targeted career; and (10) back to school--how to find the right program.
