America's 21st Century School: Linking Education Reform and Technology.

This document draws on both research and practical experience in order to develop a technology system to serve the K-12 community for the next 5 to 10 years. The study offers its design based on projections of where technological advances will intersect with the evolution of the school system. Sections include: (1) "Introduction"; (2) "Technology and Society"; (3) "Principles of Learning"; (4) "The Impact of Technology on Schools"; (5) "Linking Education Reforms and Technology"; (6) "Creating Expanded Learning Environments"; (7) "Instructional Technology Applications in the Classroom"; (8) "Curriculum and Technology"; (9) "Administrative Technology Applications"; (10) "Technological Advances"; and (11) "Envisioning the Future: America's 21st Century Schools." Discussion focuses on technology's role in creating a society of lifelong learners as well as creating schools which tailor education to different developmental stages and learning approaches, nurture student-centered knowledge, and reach beyond their own walls for novel educational partnerships.
